The heart of the Snowsports Academy is the Moonbeam Kids’ Program. Offering your children a fun and exciting learning experience as well as peace of mind for you, the Moonbeam Ski and Snowboard Academy features skilled instructors who utilize small group sizes, games and fun to help children develop more confidence on the snow and improve their techniques.

Junior Explorers 5 - 6 years

Solitude offers a wide variety of group lessons for kids. The Junior Explorers group now includes children ages 5 and 6 for both skiing and snowboarding. Instructors who are specially trained to work with children lead the classes. Group size is a maximum of four students per class. We offer full and half day options. The full day lesson is from 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. and includes morning and afternoon skiing or snowboarding as well as lunch. Registration is open from 9 a.m. to 9:45 a.m. Kids 6 years old and under ski free at Solitude!

Mini Explorers 3 - 4 years

Solitude offers full day lessons for 3 and 4-year-olds. Student-to-teacher ratios are two to one and we guarantee that your child will ride with an instructor or adult. Appropriate ski, snow play, lunch time and inside activities are determined by your child’s willingness and energy level. Our attentive instructors encourage your child’s inner curiosity to maximize their learning.Registration is open from 9 a.m. to 9:45 a.m. Kids 6 years old and under ski free at Solitude!

Adaptive Private Instruction

Solitude Mountain Resort and the National Ability Centerhave had a long-term relationship with the shared objective of providing fun and educational adaptive ski and snowboard lessons for people with disabilities. Ski and Snowboard Instructors specially trained in working with these clientele are available at the National Ability Center.
